About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to join the team at The Guardian as a full-time Journalist. As a Journalist, you will play a pivotal role in crafting engaging and informative content that shapes the local dialogue. What you'll be doing

• Researching, investigating and reporting on a diverse range of news and feature stories
• Developing and maintaining a strong network of contacts and sources to uncover exclusive stories
• Accurately and objectively capturing events, interviews and information to the highest journalistic standards
• Collaborating with editors and other journalists to refine and enhance story ideas and content
• Meeting deadlines and production schedules to ensure timely publication of stories
• Staying up-to-date with current affairs, industry trends and emerging issues

What we're looking for

• Experience as a Journalist, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality news and feature content
• Excellent research, interviewing and writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling, well-structured stories
• Strong attention to detail and fact-checking abilities to ensure accuracy and integrity
• Adaptability and the capacity to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines
• A collaborative mindset and the skills to work effectively as part of a team
• A keen interest in current affairs and a passion for journalism, storytelling and photography
• Cadet journalists are encouraged to apply
