The Role
Defence Finance Group (DFG) is seeking experienced and enthusiastic finance professionals to join the Navy finance team for current vacancies in Henderson, WA and Canberra, ACT. The APS 6 Finance Advisor is a customer-facing role who will guide a small and dynamic team in the provision of strategic financial advice to key clients, both uniformed and civilian. The Finance Advisor will also assist clients in the identification of financial risks and opportunities, understanding of cost drivers and impacts on capability, and forecasting of End of Financial Year achievement.
Some of the key duties of this role include:
- Use business knowledge and financial skills to provide expert advice on Defence and Government financial matters.
- Build and sustain effective working relationships with key clients across the Navy and Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment domain.
- Coordinate financial governance requirements and promote compliance with the financial management frameworks.
- Contribute to budget preparations, evaluation of financial performance and general financial management across a variety of budgets and capabilities.
- Identify financial issues and apply financial management knowledge to deliver objective and systematic analysis and conclusions.
About our Team
We are a small and dynamic team working collaboratively with our clients within Navy, the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG), and the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG).
The Navy Finance teams are geographically dispersed around Australia, supporting internal and external clients across the organisation, and dedicated to the provision of high quality financial services.
