The Role

We are currently looking for experienced civil construction workers in a variety of roles to join our construction teams. Reporting to the Construction Superintendents you will be responsible for the

As part of this role, you will be site based with a project team based in the Hunter Valley but may be required to travel to other FCS sites throughout NSW.

As part of the pre-employment process, you will need to complete & pass a Coal Board Order 43 Medical, drug and alcohol and audio testing.

We are searching for experienced people for the various roles below in our Civil team for a project based in the Hunter Valley area on a 5-2 roster.

• Formwork Carpenters
• Concreters
• Steel Fixers
• Plant Operators

Full time and Casual Employment Opportunities Available.

$46.68 - $49.09 per hour (Pending Qualification)

Casuals plus 25% loading.

10 Hour working days – 8 hours at ordinary time and 2 hours at time & a half.

RDO accrual (Full time employment only)

17.5% Annual Leave loading (Full time employment only)

Primary Responsibilities & Duties:

Duties including but not limited to:

• Attending and actively participating in pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and other safety briefings.
• Adhering to company policies, procedures, and site safety regulations, including always wearing appropriate PPE.
• Identifying and reporting hazards, near-misses, and incidents promptly to supervisors.
• Demonstrating a commitment to a safety-first culture by modelling safe behaviour.
• Completing daily assigned tasks with a focus on precision, consistency, and timeliness.
• Conducting quality checks to ensure all work meets company and client standards.
• Proactively seeking opportunities to improve processes and reduce waste or delays.
• Working collaboratively with team members, subcontractors, and supervisors to achieve project goals.
• Communicating effectively to ensure alignment with project timelines and requirements.
• Providing updates and feedback to the Project manager, superintendent or supervisor on progress and potential challenges.

Skills, Qualifications, Attributes and Experience:

• Relevant certificate, license, or statement of attainment in the applicable field (e.g., Formwork, Concreting, Steel Fixing, or Plant Operation).
• Construction White Card (mandatory).
• Current Driver’s License (mandatory).
• A minimum of 2 years’ trade-based experience in a similar position within the Mining or Infrastructure sectors.
• Proven ability to perform in high-pressure environments while meeting tight deadlines.
• Experience working on civil construction projects, particularly in mining or large-scale infrastructure, is highly regarded.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to dynamic work conditions and unforeseen challenges.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and complete tasks to a high standard.
• A strong focus on safety, including adherence to all workplace safety procedures.
• A team-oriented mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
• Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic.
• Physical fitness and endurance to perform manual labour and meet the physical demands of the job.
