About the Position

Working within our Engineering Services team, the Civil Design Coordinator has a pivotal role in leading and coordinating the strategic planning of the annual capital works program and overseeing traffic and transport activities within the City. Providing excellent customer service to the community relating to traffic and transport engineering is a key aspect of the role. This position requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes for the City's engineering infrastructure, along with effective communication to ensure the community is informed about traffic and transport engineering services.

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering (minimum requirement for affiliate membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia).
  • Experience in the design and/or construction of roads, drainage systems and municipal infrastructure in an urban environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as mediation and negotiation skills.
  • Well-developed time management, organisational, analytical and administrative skills.
  • Working knowledge of technical standards and specifications relating to road and drainage design such a MRWA, AustRoad, and Australian Standards.
  • Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
