Chefs, Cooks and Kitchen Hands - Brisbane Airport (SSP Australia)

About the Role

SSP Australia are seeking an experienced Chef de Parties, Demi Chefs, Commis Chefs, Cooks and Kitchen Hands to join our team at Brisbane Airport on a casual basis.

You will be supported by a great leadership team and work collaboratively with a professional Head Chef and highly experienced culinary team. As an ideal candidate, you will be an experienced and professional team player with a can-do attitude and a commitment towards achieving outstanding results.

We feature multiple outlets throughout Brisbane Airport ranging in all styles of food offerings including charcoal cooked meats & wraps, deli cabinets incorporating sandwiches, salads & pastries, a la carte outlets serving, breakfast, burgers, steaks and everything else in-between! We currently have 250+ Bar Staff, Chefs, F&B Attendants & Baristas helping to deliver awesome experiences across our 10 venues.

What are skills and experience are we looking for?

• At least 2 years’ experience as a Cook or Chef working in a similar role
• Flexibility across a seven-day roster
• For Kitchen Hands - 1 year experience in a similar role
• Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery (Essential)
• Food Handlers Certificate (Essential)
• Hold a valid Driver's License and have access to a vehicle to commute to and from work (Essential)
• Experience in working in large kitchen teams
• A passion for food and an eagerness to learn and develop culinary skills
• Knowledge in WHS Compliance and strong understanding of food safety and practices
• Organised, responsible, and can manage a section
• A high standard of food preparation, presentation and service
• Excellent time management skills, strong communication skills and collaborative work mentality
• A lively personality and positive attitude
