We are looking to fill three financial accounting contract roles(Accountant, Senior Finance Business Partner and a Principal Finance Business Partner) for a WA State Government department. Initial assignments will be for 3-6 months with extension or direct contract opportunities.

Commencing when available these roles are based in Perth CBD and entails a five day working week(plus the option of one day per week working from home).

Role details(generic) - detailed Job descriptions available for each role

• Involvement in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports, including the preparation of notes, reconciliations and audit quality working papers
• Maintains the integrity of general ledger for all entities
• Prepares/review, and/or approve all journals prepared for month end activities including Asset Accounting
• Review and monitor all month end reconciliations
• Assists with the development and maintenance of financial management policies and procedures
• Provides training and advice in financial policies and procedures
• Provides information in support of internal and external audit programs
• Undertakes other duties as required

You will ideally need:

• In-depth knowledge of current and emerging trends in financial and asset accounting, including Australian Accounting Standards, Financial Management Act 2006 (but not essential).
• Ability to develop, promote and implement financial accounting services in response to governmental and stakeholder expectations, and broader community values
• Possession of a tertiary qualification in accounting or a related discipline and current memberships of the CAANZ, CPA or equivalent
• Experience with any of the following systems an advantage:
• Oracle Fusion – FinHub
• EPM – Reporting system used to extract data
• Oaks – Budgeting tool to check end of month balancing
