Perth Waldorf School invites applications for
History and Politics Teacher (0.6 FTE or Full-time)
Woodwork Teacher (0.55 FTE)
Long Service Leave Cover for Term 2
The Perth Waldorf School teaches students from Kindergarten to Class 12 according to the indications of Rudolf Steiner. Our campus in Bibra Lake is thriving, and we are in the process of expanding and growing our new campus in the Perth Hills at Parkerville Steiner College. We are seeking a dynamic and creative teacher to join our staff at our Bibra Lake campus.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a nurturing and student-centered environment where you can teach a holistic, creative and structured curriculum to meet the needs of young people. Successful applicants will have a passion for education and an interest in understanding Steiner's pedagogy and philosophy. A desire to learn more and grow as a teacher is essential, and training will be provided to successful candidates. Having a high level of social and emotional intelligence and a relational approach to education is important when working with students and colleagues.
Position 1: We are looking for a History and Politics teacher to cover Term 2. There is the possibility to work full-time OR to work 0.6FTE, starting at 10:30 every day, teaching History and Politics in Years 10 – 12.
Position 2: We are looking for a Woodwork teacher for Term 2. Classes take place from Monday to Thursday between 10:30am and 3:05pm. There is a strong focus on using hand tools in the younger years, with copper work and Blacksmithing taking place in Class 9 and 10. Upper school elective students are supported to design and produce original pieces.
It is a great curriculum, teaching great students and working with supportive staff. Sometimes people ask their current employer for Leave without Pay to try a different curriculum and school. Could that be you for term 2?
At Perth Waldorf School we are committed to promoting the safety, health and wellbeing of children and young people and expect all school staff, parents, students, volunteers and visitors to the school to share that commitment.
To be eligible, you must be a registered teacher with TRBWA and you must have a valid Working with Children Check or a willingness to apply, Australian residency, or possession of a valid visa with work entitlement in Australia (sponsorship is not available).
