Company Profile:
We are a growing construction Quantity Surveying company primarily servicing Victoria. We offer boutique services to the construction industry across a broad range of clients and projects. Our small team pride ourselves on fostering a culture of growth, development and flexibility to allow our team members to grow with us.
We understand family comes first and that our work must work in with busy our lives. Over the past 5 years, we have shown continued growth and are looking to expand our team to further support our established team and client base. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, has an enthusiasm for the construction industry and a high attention to detail.
What we do:
- High end residential
- Commercial & Civic projects
- Government and Education projects
- Recreational and Religious projects
- Landscape projects
- Heritage projects
- Pro bono / community projects
- Expert Witness / Dispute resolution
About your role:
As an experienced Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a focal role in the financial decision making of a broad range of projects and stakeholder groups. We believe that diversity is an integral part of continued learning in the workplace. With projects throughout Victoria, you will work across a wide range of high-profile projects, clients, stakeholders and reporting, with no two projects the same.
We are looking to expand our team to include someone who is self-motivated, has a high attention to detail and is comfortable and confident to work remotely with the support of the senior team for guidance.
What you will be responsible for:
- Working collaboratively with the senior team in leading our growing group of projects and clients
- Cost planning and quantification from Concept to Construction
- Providing budget analyses, and value management options to stakeholders
- Communicating results with stakeholders including clients, architects and main contractors
- Preparing of tender evaluation reports
- Contract administration including progress claims and variation assessments
- Assisting with contract negotiations
What we are offering:
- A full time or part time opportunity – for the right person, we are willing to be flexible and tailor the role to suit you.
- Remote working arrangement – As a remote workforce, the whole office enjoys full time working from home which offers greater work life balance.
- Opportunity to join a small team – A small team means a great diversity of work and tasks. You will gain well rounded experience across a wide range of projects and stages.
- The team culture – Predominantly female team but would love some diversity. Awesome vibes, lots of banter but work hard and support each other
- Diversity of the work - small to medium sized jobs means much more opportunity to work on a variety of projects (no getting stuck on one huge project for months on end). There is also a mixture of home office and site-based work to help break up the week.
- Personal support - if you're looking for personal development or want to study while working or just want a role that offers flexibility around the family or home life, we will support you in whatever stage you're at.
- Opportunity to make a real difference - we are growing and there is an opportunity to be part of something really special (check out our MQS Community Outreach Program). The role will grow as the business grows and we will continue to have meaningful impact. How cool is that?
- A competitive salary package based on experience
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Excellent communications skills
- Sound understanding of the Australian construction industry with a proven reputation within the Victorian construction market

- AIQS membership preferred, however not essential

- People leadership experience (helpful but if it’s not something you’re super passionate to do then we can chat further about how the role could look to suit your skills, experiences and passions)
- Strong understanding of the local Australian construction market
We have a strong vision for the future and a huge part of our success hinges on the caliber of our team and our brand. Your ideas, enthusiasm and knowledge are relied on to make key decisions.
