Portside Engineering is a locally owned and operated business based in Carnarvon, WA. We are currently expanding our business to better suit our clients' needs in the Gascoyne region. Our scope of work includes servicing, overhauls and maintenance on commercial, civil, mining and maritime equipment.

About You

We are currently seeking experienced, motivated and driven mechanics to join our team in Carnarvon to assist with Workshop and Field Based operations. The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience working on a variety of equipment, ranging from:

• Commercial vehicles
• On-Highway road transport and related equipment
• Civil machinery including excavators, dozers, graders and loaders
• Cranes, ranging from frannas to crawler cranes
• Marine equipment such as recreational and commercial vessels (trawlers & dredges)
• Ancillary equipment including lighting plant and generators
• Experience with hydraulics and electrical components (preferred)

Roles are residential to Carnarvon however we will also consider FIFO/DIDO for the right candidate.

About the Role

You will be responsible for:

• Performing mechanical and electrical diagnostics on the above machinery
• Overhauls of transmission components, engines, steering, gearboxes and differential systems
• Reading and understanding service manuals and procedures
• Utilitise service inspection forms to diagnose and detect defective components
• Performing scheduled servicing and maintenance
• Attending break downs
• Use of scan tools to perform diagnostics
• Perform inspections for roadworthy verification

Required Qualifications

• Australian recognised trade qualification in Light or Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
• Current drivers licence (HR, HC, MC highly desirable)
• Unlimited right to work in Australia
