About the Role

As a Home Recoveries & Liability Consultant, you will identify recovery opportunities and use your expertise to convert home claims into successful recoveries. You will also work to minimise missed recovery opportunities and negotiate settlements from third parties. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient claim outcomes while delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-end management of a Recoveries & Legal Liability portfolio.
• Assess and triage recovery opportunities
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote recoveries
• Consult with external solicitors on litigation claims to achieve recovery or mitigate liability
• Think creatively to identify opportunities, ensuring high attention to detail and sound judgment in progressing files
• Identify trends to mitigate lost recovery opportunities
• Assess liability and recovery potential, including claim management and preparation of claim reviews
• Ensure compliance with General Insurance Code of Practice, Australian Debt Recovery Guidelines, Australia Privacy Principles, and internal business processes

What You Bring to the Role:

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Exceptional customer service skills and communication skills
• Strong knowledge of claims and recoveries processes
• Strong technical expertise, with the ability to manage multiple platforms simultaneously
• High attention to detail with an analytical mindset
• Excellent organisational skills with experience following processes and compliance best practice
• Excellent negotiation skills regarding settlements with third parties and insurers
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
