About you:
You are a tertiary qualified Accountant, ideally with some exposure to both financial and management accounting, who is looking for more variety and scope. Don't stay chained to the desk crunching the same old numbers. This role offers real challenge and variety that will build and develop a broad suite of skills and support you to fully realise your potential.
Working with some of the industry's most experienced professionals, you will join the Sydney Office (Chandos Street in St Leonards) of Australia's leading insurance technical, legal and claims advisory services.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Economic loss calculations – Calculate a reasoned loss estimate which can support decision making processes when considering settlement of business interruption/loss of revenue insurance losses or litigation.
- Sum insured reviews – providing professional accounting and financial support to commercial clients and brokers in the preparation of Business Interruption Sum Insured reviews.
You will employ and build on your diverse skill set as you:
- Liaise, advise and consult with clients to obtain an understanding of their business, the loss involved and in sourcing appropriate information
- Investigate/assess claims in accordance with insurance policy terms and conditions
- Undertake detailed financial modelling and prepare expert reports
- Negotiate with insurers with respect to policy entitlements
- Implement service agreements and obtain any pre-approvals required
- Maintain contacts and build relationships within the insurance and risk management industries (Insurers/Loss Adjusters)
You are intelligent, curious, a lateral thinker, resourceful, hungry to learn and prepared to travel throughout New South Wales if required - so your own vehicle and current drivers’ licence are essential - you will be reimbursed for travel.
You enjoy, and are equally capable of, both big picture thinking, and immersing yourself in the detailed analysis of complex financial information and data.
Honest, ethical, proactive, adaptable, and a fast learner, you also have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and you enjoy interaction with people, using your great interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Insurance experience, whilst an advantage, is not essential.
Salary commensurate with experience.
This is a hybrid-based job. However, there will be more on-site time during the initial onboarding and training process.
You must also have the right to live and work in Australia.
