You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of prescribed medications within a secure environment. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will work closely with Registered Nurses to provide accurate medication administration while also assisting with essential administrative tasks. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare services.

As a Pharmacy Assistant in the Health Services team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to issue prescribed medications from a dose administration aid (Webster pack)
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures related to medication distribution
  • Reporting non-compliance or medication refusal to the Registered Nurse promptly
  • Maintaining patient health records in accordance with policy and procedure
  • Handling administrative duties and responding to telephone inquiries
  • Assisting with general pharmacy tasks, including phlebotomy

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Experience in issuing prescribed medications from a dose administration aid (Webster pack)
  • Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • The ability to prioritize workload efficiently in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting
  • Well-developed problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • A commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct
  • Experience working in a high-pressure environment subject to change and complexity
