The Role:

The position plays a key role in the management and maintenance of the City of Ballarat’s open and outdoor spaces including community parks, reserve assets, streetscapes and recreational spaces.

This position has a key role in supervising, developing, and training the Parks Maintenance Team in the delivery of high standards of horticultural practice that maintains and enhances the reputation of the City of Ballarat as a leader in horticultural maintenance and presentation.

About You:

The successful candidate will have previous experience in supervising field staff and managing contractors in a Parks Maintenance / Parks & Gardens environment. They will have detailed knowledge of modern horticultural practices relevant to the areas of specialisation, e.g. garden maintenance, weed control techniques, irrigation management, landscape design and construction, turf maintenance and tree maintenance.

They will have a demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service, along with the ability to provide technical advice in the development and management of maintenance schedules.
