The registered nurse is responsible for delivering high quality clinical care to clients in accordance with their individual care plans and DHC policies and procedures. This role ensures the health, wellbeing and diginity of clients are upheld while foatering a supportive and collaborative working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for residents.
- Administer medications and treatments in line with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and respond to changes in residents' health conditions.
- Provide guidance and support to care staff, ensuring delivery of care aligns with organizational standards.
- Act as a clinical resource for staff, mentoring and fostering professional development.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely documentation of residents’ care and clinical activities.
- Ensure compliance with aged care standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies.
- Act as an advocate for residents, ensuring their rights, preferences, and dignity are respected.
- Engage with residents and their families to provide updates and gather feedback on care provided.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Manage infection control practices and adhere to workplace health and safety regulations.
- Act promptly and appropriately in emergency situations, providing leadership and support as needed.

Key Requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated experience in aged care, gerontology, or similar fields.
- Understanding of aged care standards and accreditation processes.
- Community nursing experience
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to provide evidence-based care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Empathy and a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life for residents.
- Current Police Check and Working with Children Check (WWC).
- NDIS Workers Orientation Certificate
- Blue card and yellow Card
- Evidence of working rights in Australia
- COVID-19 and other vaccinations as per government and facility requirements.
- Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
