About the Opportunity:

Wagners is hiring full-time Heavy Vehicle Mechanics in Toowoomba, QLD.

In this role, you will maintain, service, and repair our fleet, including highway trucks, trailers, light vehicles, and mobile/fixed machinery. Work is varied and fast-paced, so every day is different!

What You’ll Do:

• Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of heavy vehicles and equipment
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic tools
• Conduct preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
• Ensure safety and NHVAS compliance
• Keep accurate service records and maintain a clean workspace
• Undertake some field service and breakdown work as required

Shifts & Work Schedule:

• Day shift: 6 AM – 4 or 5 PM
• Night shift: 3 PM – midnight (rotates every 6–7 weeks for 2 weeks)
• Overtime available, including weekends

About You:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle/Transport or Diesel Fitting (preferred)
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in diesel mechanics or a related field
• A valid C Class Driver’s Licence is required; HR Licence or higher is preferred
• Your own toolbox (specialist equipment provided)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to workplace safety and compliance

The following will be highly regarded but are not essential:

• Experience with earthmoving and plant machinery
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools
• Trades Assistants (TAs) with 5+ years of experience and 3rd & 4th-year apprentices eager to further develop their skills are encouraged to apply.
