As Manager, Library Services and Engagement, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping an outstanding library experience for our students and staff. From enhancing digital and information literacy to creating engaging learning services across physical and online spaces, you’ll play a key role in fostering academic success and meaningful connections with the library. You will
- drive the delivery of digital and information literacy services that empower students and enhance their academic journey;
- shape engaging, student-focused learning experiences—whether in the library, online, or out in the wider university community;
- champion the library’s role in curriculum development and research support, working closely with university partners to make a real impact; and
- build meaningful partnerships that strengthen and expand the reach of UniSC Library services.
About you
Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and approachable leader who thrives on developing and enhancing library customer services and programs. You're passionate about managing campus library operations and supporting your team in delivering relevant, efficient services that make a difference. With a talent for building strong relationships with schools and stakeholders, you understand the evolving needs of library services and promote programs that engage our community. You work collaboratively within the Library Leadership Team and across the university, fostering a positive, supportive culture. Your analytical mindset drives you to provide insightful reports on service delivery, helping to shape new initiatives and overcome challenges. With your finger on the pulse of trends in digital literacy, GenAI, and research support, you’re committed to ensuring our library remains a vibrant hub of learning and innovation.
You will possess:
- Proven experience in managing both digital and in-person library inquiries, along with information, training, and engagement services.
- Experience in developing and managing digital information skills programs for coursework students and higher degree research candidates, while effectively delivering library services to academic and professional staff.
- Strong management skills applied to staffing operations, professional development initiatives, and the effective use of physical library spaces.
- Ability to lead and support staff through change, fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation, and high performance.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills that enable you to influence outcomes and build strong, collaborative relationships both internally and externally.
- Analytical and creative thinker with a talent for using data to guide decision-making.
- Commitment to staying current with industry trends and continuously expanding your knowledge.
