Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Physiotherapist applicants to join our team as an on a Part-time basis. The successful applicant will be able to work on Thursdays + Fridays at a minimum, with an ability to contribute to our weekend roster coverage.

health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
As Physiotherapist your responsibilities will include:
- Providing comprehensive Physiotherapy services to Rehabilitation patients and acute surgical inpatients (including orthopaedics, general surgery, cardiac and neurosurgery.
- Delivering excellent clinical services related to assessment, treatment, planning and evidence based practice
- Participating in program development and quality improvement activities within the Allied Health Department
- Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients and their support people
- Discharge planning with the multidisciplinary team and referrals to external services.
- Clinical supervision of physiotherapy and allied health assistant students.
Essential Criteria:
- Bachelor in Physiotherapy
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Able to work a range of shifts Excellent clinical practice skills to manage a high acuity caseload
- Minimum 1 years' experience in an acute hospital environment
- Prior experience in a Rehabilitation setting would be advantageous
- Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork
