Position: Primary and Secondary Education Tutors

Subjects: - English(Y1-12) ;

- Scholarship English and Selective school English

Tasks & responsibilities

• Provide group tutoring sessions to students in primary and secondary year levels.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure continuity in learning and support the integration of tutoring sessions.
• Stay up-to-date with curriculum changes and educational best practices to enhance teaching methods and approaches.
• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student confidence and academic growth.

Qualifications & experience

• Must have obtained a Bachelor's degree or a current university student.
• Must have current VIT or Working with Children Check.
• Available to work after school and on weekends
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience in primary or secondary education preferred but not essential
• Demonstrate great understanding of Victorian curriculum and VCAA study design, especially a strong knowledge of the relevant subject matter and curriculum
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students of diverse backgrounds.
• Strong organisational skills to plan and manage tutoring sessions effectively.
• Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
• IB teaching experience will be considered favourably
• Able to prepare and tailor their lesson plans and worksheets using basic office applications such as PowerPoint slides, PDF and zoom.
