Senior Data Engineer - Sydney - $175k + Super - 12-Month FTC

Are you an experienced Data Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity in a lean and dynamic team? We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Sydney-based team on a 12-month fixed-term contract with a competitive package of $175k + Super.

About the Role:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing ETL pipelines, ensuring data integrity, and supporting business intelligence initiatives. This is an opportunity to work autonomously, drive best practices, and collaborate with a small but highly skilled team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, manage, and optimize ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Snowflake.
• Integrate and utilize DBT (Data Build Tool) effectively within the data stack.
• Standardize and maintain high-performance data processes independently.
• Work closely with a Power BI Analyst and one other team member to support reporting and analytics.
• Collaborate directly with senior stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Report directly to Paul while maintaining a high level of independence and accountability.
• Operate effectively in a lean organization without the need for micromanagement.

Requirements:

• Strong expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Snowflake.
• Hands-on experience with DBT and its integration within a modern data stack.
• Proven ability to independently standardize and manage ETL pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders.
• Self-driven and able to operate independently without micromanagement.
• A positive attitude and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
