The Centre:
The service we are currently working with is a dynamic and innovative early learning centre that integrates Positive Education principles into its curriculum. They are dedicated to providing a stimulating and inclusive learning environment for children, where their strengths, interests, and developmental needs are nurtured. Their approach emphasises building strong connections with families and the local community, ensuring that each child’s learning journey is engaging and meaningful.

The role of Education & Practice Leader plays a key part in driving this vision, supporting both children and educators to achieve excellence in all aspects of the educational experience.

The Opportunity:
The service are seeking a passionate and experienced Education & Practice Leader to join our leadership team. This role will lead the implementation and ongoing delivery of the Positive Education curriculum, guide educators in their professional practice, and mentor staff to ensure high-quality education and care. You will work closely with the Centre Manager, the Head of Positive Education, and the Curriculum Manager to foster a positive, collaborative environment that supports continuous improvement.

While this role is not directly involved in educator-to-child ratios, you will spend time in classrooms to stay connected with the children, model best practices, and provide guidance to staff. You will be an active presence in shaping a strong educational culture that prioritises reflective practices, inclusivity, and the well-being of all children.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of the Positive Education curriculum, ensuring it is implemented effectively across all classrooms.
  • Train, mentor, and support educators in the application of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the services Positive Education curriculum.
  • Foster a reflective practice culture among educators, guiding them through self-evaluation and providing continuous feedback.
  • Conduct regular classroom visits to observe practice, offer support, and model quality pedagogy.
  • Collaborate with families and the community to create a supportive and inclusive environment for children.
  • Oversee the implementation of the curriculum audit process, setting achievable goals for ongoing improvement.
  • Monitor and guide educators in the use of assessments to track children’s development and ensure learning programs meet the needs of individual children.
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities to deepen your knowledge of Positive Education and share this knowledge with the team.
  • Ensure that all practices align with the National Quality Standards (NQS) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2018).
  • Support educators in embedding inclusive practices and promoting children's involvement in decision-making.

The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a passionate leader who:

  • Holds a Diploma or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent) with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Has a strong commitment to Positive Education and creating a supportive learning environment for both children and educators.
  • Is experienced in mentoring and guiding teams to deliver high-quality, inclusive early childhood education.
  • Has knowledge of the EYLF and NQS, with experience in curriculum planning and implementation.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with families, educators, and the broader community.
  • Holds a current First Aid qualification, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management Certificates, and a Working with Children Check.
  • Has experience working within a leadership role in early childhood education, ideally in a not-for-profit or community-based setting.
