About the Role
We are currently seeking an ANUM that is experienced in all areas of perioperative nursing to join our friendly and expanding team at GSHS in a permanent part-time capacity (0.63 EFT). The role will have responsibility for assisting in the coordination and supervision of staff as well as providing support to the Nurse Unit Manager.
As a Theatre ANUM at GSHS you will be responsible for:
- Providing effective shift management and clinical leadership during the off-duty periods of the NUM and performing in the NUM role in their absence
- Acting as a role model for staff, communicating clinical and professional expectations and holding staff accountable for meeting these expectations
- Working closely with nursing staff and multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients have a comprehensive assessment and documented plan of care
- Ensuring timely clinical documentation is at the highest standard and service delivery planning is consistent and supports care delivery across care settings
- Reporting changes in health and functional status and individual responses to health care interventions, ensuring that appropriate clinical resources are used, including when specific complex care needs are identified
- Working in a highly organised manner, balancing competing priorities and work demands, and identify and respond appropriately to critical and urgent clinical needs
About You
The successful applicant should possess the following:
- Current registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)
- Experience in all aspects of perioperative nursing
- Post graduate studies in perioperative nursing (or willingness to undertake)
- Current Police Check
- Excellent Interpersonal skills
- Time management and decision making skills
- Willingness to participate in the on-call roster
