Kangaroo Island Veterinary Clinic is searching for an experienced Certificate IV Veterinary Nurse. The right person will have a sound background in Certificate II & IV Animal Care & Veterinary Nursing for companion animals, and, as a rural mixed animal practice, experience with a broad range of species is preferable but not mandatory. Your role would include:
• Providing small animal, equine, wildlife and production animal medical and surgical nursing
• Providing nursing care for hospitalised patients
• Providing high quality over-the-counter product education and sales within the companion animal, equine and production animal spaces
• Providing after-hours call back services 1 week in 5 with an on-call bonus
• Ongoing opportunities to train and develop in specific areas of interest to further develop your and our nurse team’s skillset

The Kangaroo Island Veterinary Clinic has been established for 40 years. It sees approximately 50% small animal and wildlife, 30% sheep, 15% cattle and 5% equine work. The clinic accommodates small and large animal consults, including mobile services, and features a large farm animal retail section. The small animal facilities are continually expanding and include digital x-ray, ultrasound machines, full surgical suite and a full in-house laboratory. The successful applicant must be a team player as you'll be joining our tight knit team of 5 vets and 12 support staff. A large part of this role involves interacting with our loyal and valued clients therefore you must also be a people person with great enthusiasm and a good sense of humour! Hours and remuneration for the right candidate is negotiable depending on experience and will be above Award. Experience is not necessary as we believe attitude is everything and skills can be developed through mentorship and training – so anyone is welcome to apply!
