About us:
Capricornia Offender Health Service (COHS) is responsible for the delivery of health service to Prisoners in the Capricornia Correctional Centre (CCC) and Capricornia Correctional Farm (CCF) including workcamps. COHS provides a health service to a fluctuating population of approximately 1028 male Prisoners within CCC and CCF. The CCC receives and transitions Prisoners on release from and to geographical locations north to Mackay; south to Gladstone, east to Capricorn Coast; and west to Central Highlands.
COHS provides clinical services within the correctional centre, which is unique to other clinical services, in that, COHS provides services within a structured day and security function of CCC/ a correctional centre. Therefore, limitations exist in how healthcare services are provided and the timeframe for which this can occur given the safety and security function within a correctional facility.
About the role:
- Deliver an advanced standard of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation by using clinical nursing expertise including for patients with complex care needs.
- Comply with and utilise procedures, policies, regulations, and standards which impact upon the position, including contemporary human resource management requirements and practices, such as work health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal employment opportunity principles and practices.
- Ability to provide clinical supervision, clinical education, and up-skilling to nurses to achieve a skilled capable workforce in line with professional workforce standards.
- Participate in developing and undertaking quality initiatives clinical audits, and research.
- Provide clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education, and research in conjunction with the Nurse Grade 7 and Nurse Grade 6 (2).
About you:
- Current registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A relevant postgraduate certificate or post graduate diploma is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.
What we offer:
- An hourly rate between $66.97 - $71.71 p.h. (Incl 25% casual loading)
