The Organisation
They are a respected Australian based security and communications consultancy specialising in providing independent and high quality security and risk consultancy services to global clients. With a national footprint, their dedicated team of well-known industry leading professionals service a highly specialised market, focusing primarily on clients with complex security environments. They pride themselves on retaining their talent offering an environment of continued learning, challenge and fun with collaboration and open communication key at all levels.
The Role
Due to impending retirement after strong tenure, there is a key role to fill for a business in growth mode. You are credentialled and a qualified Accountant with strong accruals based accounting skills, ideally possess company secretarial skills and have experience reporting directly to ELT and Board. You are also well versed in business operations which may also include HR. Salary circa $170k plus to commence.
Key areas that will be essential include:
- Full management of accounting and systems including all monthly accounting and reporting, year end financials including liaison with external accountant meeting all compliance requirements.
- Full payroll, BAS and IAS lodgements, PAYE, Workcover, super and all entitlements.
- Cashflow forecasting and reporting, annual budgets and staff communications
- Project manage with key stakeholders delivery on a new technology platform that will impact finance and reporting, at briefing stage now. Working closely with service providers, providing regular briefings and analysis reporting up to Board.
- Prepare Board papers, Board reporting and minuting
- Regular ops reporting on WIP, revenue forecasts, project updates, strategic planning, business licencing and registrations.
- Understanding of business HR including policies and procedures, on and off boarding, WHS requirements and involvement in annual review process.

You are a seasoned commercial professional who brings the qualifications and demonstrated work history that aligns to this role and the team. You have a strong interest in supporting a growth organisation who require leaders with broad business acumen, IQ and EQ, and the willingness to work as a team to deliver on business objectives. Highly systems literate, working with Xero, Microsoft Dynamix, total synergy, and with the ability to learn new systems and processes, you can lead and support well, will use your voice and ideas and can stand firm when required. This role will only be reviewing Australian Citizens for the purposes of a required national security clearance.
