The Role

As an Estimator/Contracts Administrator, you will play a crucial role in our team, responsible for managing the quoting and tendering process for commercial projects. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing tender documents, drawings, and plans to determine project requirements.
• Conducting accurate take-offs and ensuring compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
• Preparing and delivering precise and timely cost estimates and quotations.
• Managing phone and email enquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
• Negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers to optimise project costs.
• Monitoring project expenses to ensure adherence to budget guidelines.
• Providing support to internal teams and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Managing the work portfolio in Canberra.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience as an estimator within the building and construction industry.
• A solid understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards related to window furnishings.
• Strong ability to read and interpret plans, producing accurate and timely cost estimates.
• Experience in procuring materials from internal and external suppliers and managing subcontractor relationships.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
• The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
• Effective troubleshooting, prioritisation, and organisational abilities to manage multiple projects efficiently.
