Women’s Program Coordinator – Empowering Women to Re-enter the Workforce
Location: Cairns, QLD
Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 (dependent on experience), plus salary sacrifice (approx. $18,000 p/a) and additional days off.
Employment Type: Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract

The MaraWay is an Indigenous-led, not-for-profit organisation in Cairns, dedicated to creating opportunities for people to help themselves. We empower individuals through vocational training, mentoring, and community support services, with a strong focus on cultural safety, inclusivity, and empowerment.
We are looking for a passionate and driven Women’s Program Coordinator to support women re-entering the workforce. This role focuses on program design, participant support, vocational placements, and career development to help women gain employment in early childhood education and other industries.
About the Role
As the Women’s Program Coordinator, you will:
- Develop & deliver programs that support women’s workforce re-entry.
- Provide one-on-one mentoring to help participants build confidence and job readiness.
- Coordinate vocational placements and establish employer partnerships.
- Facilitate workshops on career development, resume writing, and interview skills.
- Maintain student records and assist with enrolments and administrative tasks.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure participants receive comprehensive support.
- Promote an inclusive and empowering environment that respects cultural diversity.

About You
We are seeking a compassionate, organised, and motivated individual who is passionate about supporting women in their career journeys.
Essential:
- Experience in education, community services, employment support, or mentoring.
- Strong program coordination and administrative skills.
- Ability to engage and support culturally diverse participants.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Desirable:
- Qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, Education, or Career Development.
- Experience working with Indigenous, migrant, or disadvantaged communities.
