The Role

We have an exciting temporary full-time Teacher position available until 27 June 2025 unless otherwise determined to join our Educational Delivery team in the Education Faculty. This position will be based at both TAFE Queensland’s Nurunderi Campus (located at Cherbourg) and Kingaroy Campus.

As a Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) TAFE Teacher, you have the opportunity to change the lives by improving the participants’ Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills giving them options for further training and employment.

This position reports to the Educational Team Leader.

Salary

The salary range for a TAFE Teacher is $89,799 - $118,528 (gross) per annum, depending on educational qualifications held and teaching experience.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must possess the following:

  • Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed;

o Undergraduate degree of at least three years duration awarded by an Australian university or tertiary institution, or its onshore or overseas equivalent (recognised in Australia).

o Highly desirable: Post graduate TESOL qualification in adult education or equivalent (recognised in Australia); and

  • Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials:

o TAE 40122 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;

o TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;

o TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools;

o TAE50111 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training;

o TAE50116 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or its successor;

o TAE50211 - Diploma of Training Design and Development;

o TAE50216 - Diploma of Training Design and Development, or its successor;

o Higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).

  • Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
  • Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
  • Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.

Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.

Highly Desirable

Candidates who possess the following will be highly regarded:

  • Possessing Post graduate TESOL qualification in adult education or equivalent (recognised in Australia)
