As a Specialist - BCM & Operational Governance, you will provide second-line oversight and assurance to strengthen Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Critical Operations governance across the organisation. You’ll work closely with Risk, Operational Resilience, and Third-Party Supplier teams to embed a best-in-class BCM framework that meets APRA CPS230 requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead BCM Implementation: Drive the rollout of an enterprise-wide BCM solution aligned with CPS230, collaborating with key business units.
  • Manage Critical Operations Governance: Oversee the governance and ongoing management of Critical Operations tolerances, including scenario and stress testing.
  • Provide Assurance & Risk Oversight: Offer independent oversight to assess, test, and enhance Business Impact Assessments (BIAs) and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs).
  • Change Management & Training: Support the organisation’s readiness for CPS230 by developing training content and conducting workshops.
  • Enhance Business Continuity Culture: Strengthen BCM strategy, frameworks, and governance to ensure resilience at all levels.
  • Risk & Control Remediation: Identify and escalate gaps in controls, risk assessments, and resilience planning.

About You

  • Minimum of five years' experience in Business Continuity, Operational Resilience, or Risk Management
  • Strong knowledge of APRA’s CPS230 and CPS232 within financial services
  • Experience in assurance, risk & controls testing, and regulatory compliance
  • Expertise in BCP & BIA development, testing, and governance
  • Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience in a Second Line of Accountability role, influencing First Line teams
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, disaster recovery, and crisis management
  • Membership of the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) – MBCI preferred
