Salon Operations Manager – Shi Hairdressing & Ainslie Hair Inn

• Rare opportunity to lead 2 high profile salons into a new era with expert business management support from our owners, including external business development courses (role is open to candidates who do not have a hair or beauty background).
• $79,000 to $90,000 per annum, negotiable based on skills & experience & reviewed regularly + superannuation + generous allowances and commissions.
• Full time permanent role with flexibility in days/hours to suit your lifestyle. Part time may be available for the right person (minimum 30 hours per week).

Locations: Kingston and Ainslie ACT (Canberra). Onsite all day free onsite parking at both.

(1) Shi Hairdressing (Kingston) offers a dynamic urban opportunity in a fashion forward setting. Situated in the heart of Kingston, surrounded by a vast selection of places to dine and shop.

(2) Ainslie Hair Inn (Ainslie) offers a community-centric salon environment. Situated in the iconic Ainslie Shops, adjacent to the renowned Ainslie IGA.

Together they provide the perfect balance to grow your skills and responsibilities.

We currently have 9 staff across both salons and are looking to grow in 2025.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an outstanding opportunity to work closely with the local owners of these salons to lead our established team and grow with us. Our two owners have strong backgrounds in business development across various industries. This role will include a high level of mentorship, support and training.

Please note: you do not necessarily need to have a hair or beauty background to apply for this role, but you do need to be passionate about supporting people to look and feel great!

What You Will Be Working On:

• Staff management including coaching and development to achieve their full potential.
• Manage daily operations, including appointment scheduling, client services, and staff coordination.
• Maintain salon presentation and stock management.
• Assist with marketing and digital / social media presence, and business development opportunities.
• Take charge of salon targets, promotions, and upselling, ensuring the business runs efficiently and profitably.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a confident and experienced people Manager to lead our 2 salon teams (total of 9 staff with plans to grow). Ideally, you will have experience in the Hair or Beauty industries, however this is not essential.

Essential Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in a management or coordinator role, ideally within the hair and beauty sector but we are open to discussion with candidates looking for a career change to join the industry.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to inspire and nurture a creative team.
• Exceptional organisational skills, with a knack for multitasking and attention to detail.
• A focus on customer service excellence and the ability to build relationships with both clients and team members.
• Experience managing salon operations, client bookings, and staff scheduling is an advantage.
• If you have an interest or background in marketing management and social media experience, or administration and office management this is a definite advantage.
