THE POSITION
The University Club of W.A. is located on the banks of the Swan River on the heritage-listed grounds of The University of Western Australia. The Club has over 5000 members and offers first class facilities including a fine dining restaurant, casual dining café and 16 state-of-the-art private function rooms.
The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of up to 8 staff in a busy environment, ensuring impeccable standards of service, allocation of duties, training of staff and control of beverage and labour costs. This hands-on role reports directly to the Restaurant Manager.
The restaurant is open for lunch Wednesday to Friday and for dinner Wednesday to Saturday. The restaurant facilities include a lounge bar and main dining area that comfortably accommodates 70 guests and 3 private dining rooms seating up to 48 guests.
THE APPLICANT
The successful applicant must possess:
- Previous experience in a high quality a la carte restaurant as a team leader / supervisor,
- Strong leadership and demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate a team,
- Significant knowledge of food and wine,
- Demonstrable knowledge of the order of service,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Ability to work independently and show initiative,
- Impeccable personal presentation,
- The ability to work a flexible roster from Tuesday – Saturday including evenings,
- Approved Managers Card
