About the Role

The Utilities Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the successful planning, coordination, and execution of utilities and civil infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for technical oversight, project coordination, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards while working closely with key stakeholders, subcontractors, and government authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering activities, manage workloads, and provide technical guidance to the team to achieve project objectives efficiently
• Oversee the accurate forecasting of project costs and revenue to ensure financial performance
• Review and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations and purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with required standards
• Participate in planning and procurement, including equipment, plant, and labour requirements
• Evaluate design and construction plans, schedules, and methodologies to optimise constructability
• Monitor project progress against the program, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines
• Assign tasks effectively to project team members and ensure quality deliverables
• Prepare and present accurate project reports to key stakeholders

Skills and Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Experience in large-scale civil utilities and infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of groundworks, water, sewer, and drainage services
• Understanding of modern construction methodologies on infrastructure projects
• Excellent time management, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Knowledge of HSEQ management systems, compliance, and reporting procedures
