We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join the team at Oaks Mackay Rivermarque Hotel on a fixed-term contract basis. The roster includes six dinner shifts a week and one breakfast shift.

Contract Term:
16th March 2025 - 13th April 2025 (with a few days before for training). The roster includes six dinner shifts a week and one breakfast shift.

Hourly rate: $33.96 per hour (excluding super)

As the Chef, you will be responsible for assisting in the daily kitchen operations while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation. You’ll join a hard-working, professional, and friendly kitchen team committed to delivering outstanding products and service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work alongside and support kitchen team members, ensuring excellence and consistency in all food products.
• Assist other Chefs in monitoring food quality and portion sizes to ensure accuracy and high standards.
• Maintain stock control by recording and monitoring wastage, performing periodic stocktakes, and managing ordering, receiving, and storage.
• Investigate and report on any financial or stock discrepancies.
• Collaborate with other Chefs to devise new menu items.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need;

• Minimum 2 years previous cooking experience
• Professional trade qualifications.
• Food Safety Certificate.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A positive and energetic attitude.
• Be able to work under pressure within a dynamic team environment
• Be able to coach and motivate less experienced members of the kitchen team
• An infectious passion for cooking and delivering a memorable dining experience.
