Senior Estimator – Residential Townhouse Builder/Developer

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator. This role is perfect for a proactive professional with a strong background in residential construction estimating who is eager to contribute to our growing portfolio of townhouse projects.

This is a contract position, with the opportunity to convert to a permanent, full-time role for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for residential townhouse developments.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and addendums to determine project scope and requirements.
• Conduct material take-offs, supplier negotiations, and subcontractor pricing.
• Develop and maintain estimating databases, ensuring cost efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and stakeholders to optimize construction costs and methodologies.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions.
• Keep up to date with industry trends, pricing, and regulatory changes impacting construction costs.

About You

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating, preferably within the residential townhouse sector.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and cost structures.
• Software Proficiency: Extensive experience with Databuild is essential, along with a strong working knowledge of Bluebeam, Onsite Companion, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Teams
• Attention to Detail: Ability to analyze and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts with precision.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying cost efficiencies and risk mitigation strategies.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with Australian construction standards, codes, and compliance requirements.
