Workfast are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Landscape Labourer to join our Natural areas and bush regeneration team in the Moreton Bay Region.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with horticulture experience and a strong work ethic to contribute to the upkeep and beautification of the national parks natural areas.

Duties:

• Perform outdoor spraying of designated street areas, footpaths, and public spaces in Brisbane to control weeds and maintain the overall cleanliness of the environment.
• Ensure safe handling and application of chemicals in accordance with local guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain and clean spraying equipment to ensure it operates efficiently.
• Use 15-litre spray packs for weed control in various public spaces.
• Operate brush cutters and other tools for weed and vegetation management.
• Assist with general labouring tasks as required, including heavy lifting, manual handling, and site preparation.
• Work as part of a team to meet daily targets and ensure the safety and quality of work.
• Report any issues with equipment or sites to the supervisor.

Requirements

• General labouring experience in outdoor work environments
• Cert I or higher in horticulture would be a huge bonus
• Chemical certificate is advantageous, but not essential.
• A valid car licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of common weed species and how to manage them is advantageous.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual tasks, including handling 15-litre spray packs.
• Experience using brush cutters and other outdoor maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
