Job Summary:

We are seeking reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Drivers to join our team in a busy potato and onion packing shed. The primary responsibility will be operating a forklift to efficiently move, stack, and organise pallets of potatoes and onions within the facility. The role involves ensuring the smooth flow of goods in and out of the packing area while maintaining safety standards and complying with company procedures. The ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and possess a valid forklift license.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate forklifts to transport potatoes and onions from storage to the packing area.
• Load and unload pallets of products, ensuring they are correctly handled to avoid damage.
• Stack pallets in designated areas, ensuring proper organisation and product rotation.
• Assist in inventory management by verifying stock and maintaining accurate records.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including wearing appropriate protective equipment and performing routine checks on forklift machinery.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
• Assist in basic maintenance of equipment and report any malfunctions promptly.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Valid high risk forklift licence.
• Previous experience operating forklifts, preferably in a warehouse or packing environment.
• Ability to work efficiently and safely in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy loads as required.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

This role is essential in maintaining the flow of operations in the packing shed, and the successful candidate will be an integral part of ensuring products are packed and ready for distribution efficiently and safely.
