About the role
· Assist with day-to-day operations of the finance department, including filing, report generation, debtor follow-ups, etc.
· Processing payments and invoices accurately and within expected time periods
· Performing reconciliations of accounts
· Reconcile bank statements by comparing transactions to the general ledger.
· Maintain accounting documents and records, ensuring all files are up to date.
· Developing ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
· Supporting the senior/managing accountant and wider finance team
· Collaborating with teams to work on various accounting projects.
About You
· Qualification in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, or related field (required)
· CPA/CA accredited (or working towards)
· Previous experience in a business administration or accounts position (required)
· Good mathematical skills to assist with accuracy in credit calculations
· Ability to establish and maintains strong partnerships with customers
· Excellent attention to detail
· Good organizational skills to effectively manage timeframes and deadlines
· Ability to establish and maintain strong partnerships with various departments in the business
· Ability to analyse data, problem-solve and think critically
· Strong understanding of good customer service requirements
· Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
· Advanced skills and experience using Microsoft Excel is essential
· Highly motivated with good interpersonal and communication skills so has the ability to work effectively in a team or independently with minimal supervision.
· Ability to work well in a busy environment, multitask several duties at once while remaining calm under pressure.
· Possess a sound ability to make decisions as per company standard operating procedures and recognise when to escalate issues to management
