About the Opportunity:

At Marian Catholic College, we are committed to fostering positive and engaging learning experiences for every student. As an RE/English Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and inspiring classroom environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing lessons that cater to the physical, social, and intellectual development of students.
  • Creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and challenging learning environment, including implementing fair and equitable behavior management strategies.
  • Providing appropriate notice for all formal assessment tasks in accordance with the assessment schedule.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student achievement and progress.
  • Demonstrating strong pedagogical knowledge, including an understanding of how students learn in the identified subject areas and ways to enhance learning and teaching.
  • Collaborating creatively and constructively within a range of school and external communities, while setting high, achievable goals for both yourself and your students.

About You:

To excel in this rewarding role, you should align with the core values of Marian Catholic College and possess:

  • Hold qualifications and experience in teaching Religious Education. Applicants currently enrolled and actively completing a Religious Education accreditation program will also be considered.
  • Strong ICT skills with the ability and willingness to integrate technology into their teaching where relevant.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills ensuring that reporting deadlines are met.
  • Ability to motivate students to achieve and to develop a life-long love of learning.
  • Ability to create effective assessment techniques and have the flexibility to differentiate learning activities for students.
  • Willingness to be an active part of the Marian Community.

Qualifications and Accreditations:

We uphold the highest standards of child protection and education. To be eligible for this role, you must have:

  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education (or be currently enrolled and actively working towards accreditation).
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Education (new graduates are encouraged to apply).
  • Eligibility to teach according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
  • A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) in compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation.
