Job Responsibilities

As a Motor Mechanic, your key duties will include:

• Maintaining, testing, and repairing petrol engines and the mechanical components of lightweight motor vehicles, including transmissions, suspension, steering, and brakes.
• Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle systems.
• Dismantling, removing, and inspecting engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components.
• Repairing and replacing worn or defective parts and reassembling mechanical components according to service manuals.
• Performing scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups, ensuring compliance with pollution and safety regulations.
• Testing and adjusting repaired mechanical parts to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnosing and testing parts using computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Inspecting vehicles and issuing roadworthiness certificates or detailing necessary repairs to meet compliance standards.

Requirements

✅ Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis (or equivalent qualification)
✅ 1-2 years of hands-on experience as a mechanic
✅ Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
✅ Experience with vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and repairs
✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
✅ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
✅ Valid driver’s license
