Join Our Team as an HSE Advisor – Weipa

Help create a safer home away from home in this exciting opportunity for an experienced safety professional to support our regional East coast client sites. Due to an internal promotion we currently have vacancy for an experienced HSE / Food Safety SME to join our FIFO East Coast Safety team.

If you are an experienced FIFO safety professional or looking to expand and develop your current safety skills as the successful candidate you will play a key role in managing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) activities for regional operations. Reporting directly to the site managers, you will work closely with site-based personnel to ensure the safety of all team members through risk assessments, safety programs, drills, food audits and meetings.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing company and client-driven HSE activities and initiatives
• Supporting comprehensive incident investigations and reporting
• Conducting HSE coaching, capability building, gap analysis, toolbox and pre-start meetings, as well as safety walks
• Identifying hazards, implementing effective systems, policies, and procedures to continuously improve safety standards
• Leading toolbox meetings

About You:
You are an experienced safety professional with a proven track record in senior safety roles, ideally within mining, civil, or facilities maintenance industries. You have a passion for fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement, and you thrive in a collaborative, high-performance environment. Your background may be HSE/ Food Manufacturing or Hospitality.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (mandatory)
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
• Ensuring Food Safety. HACCP compliance knowledge (mandatory)
• A current, full Manual Driver’s License for operating site vehicles
• Familiarity with ICAM and Root Cause Incident Investigation
• Strong time management, teamwork, and relationship-building skills
