What's expected in the role:
- Develop concepts, construction briefs and specifications for development works
- Provide high quality responses for Use of Easement applications (including s173 agreements) Legal Point of Discharge requests, Planning and Subdivision comments, Building Report and Consent, private development engineering plans and liaise with residents and developers
- Prepare reports and replies on engineering matters in response to Council, Executive Leadership Team, Manager Engineering, Principal Development Engineer, statutory authorities, consultants, user groups, ratepayers, and the general public
- Prepare, monitor, and audit Capital Works and Maintenance Programs or aspects of these programs
- Co-ordinate and manage the portfolio of tasks/projects allocated, e.g. provide management reports as required, maintain task/project methodologies and techniques, ensure liaison related issues/projects, ensure tasks/projects managed within Council's policies
- Prepare detailed preliminary designs, including carrying out the necessary computations for road, drainage and other miscellaneous projects as required to meet Council requirements and expectations in accordance with agreed design brief
- Prepare schedules of quantities and estimates and tender documents as required
- Prepare and lodge s173 agreements for Major Use of Easement applications
- Carry out engineering surveys and reports on such surveys as required
- Respond to proposed works to the extent that they could affect existing or future assets of the Council, in accordance with the guidelines
- Promote the sharing of knowledge and development skills and provide leadership with other members of the team
- Providing prompt, relevant, efficient, and accurate customer service
We are looking for people who have the below knowledge/skills/experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, or related discipline
- Eligible for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in development and engineering works related to Local Government
- Computing skills, including word-processing, databases, spreadsheets, and design packages such as DRAINS, TuFlow and OSD4
