The School of Science (SSCI) teaches and conducts research in Biomedical Sciences including Biochemistry, Molecular Biophysics, Microbiology and Cell and Molecular Biology, all disciplines of Chemistry including Atmospheric, Medicinal and Environmental Chemistry, as well as Conservation Biology, Earth Surface Processes, Ecology, Ecotoxicology, Environmental Science, Geology, Marine Biology and Spatial Sciences.

SSCI has a global research presence facilitated by its strengths in the both the Molecular Horizons Research Institute and Environmental Futures Centre. SSCI staff have global research connections providing multi-faceted opportunities for knowledge growth and development.

The Centre for Cryo-Electron Microscopy of Membrane Proteins (CCeMMP) is a collaborative academia-industry partnership that aspires to enhance the development and application of cryo-electron microscopy, to enable novel drug design and development targeting membrane proteins.

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Research Fellow to provide expert advice and support to UOW members of the ARC Training Centre for Cryo-Electron Microscopy of Membrane Proteins for Drug Discovery (CCeMMP), particularly, PhD students. In this role, you will be responsible for fulfilling the requirements outlined by CCeMMP. You will offer high-level expertise to assist researchers with their projects, support the daily use and maintenance of cryo-EM instrumentation, and contribute to the development and implementation of postgraduate training programs. Additionally, you will assist in the preparation and submission of competitive research grants that align with the strategic goals of the facility, actively participate in committees and outreach programs, and attend relevant meetings to contribute to departmental and faculty initiatives.
