About Us:
Kerfton is a growing Australian small business that manufactures and sells a unique and award-winning design of family-oriented camper trailer. We operate from a small modern factory in Oakleigh. We need to expand our manufacturing capability to meet the demand for our product. Our camper trailers consist of a fibreglass body on a fabricated steel chassis. They also include fabricated kitchen facilities and canvas tent. The Fibreglass and tent are produced off site and arrive at the Kerfton factory largely finished. All other components are manufactured and assembled inhouse.
About the Role:
- Full time permanent position
- Monday to Friday 7.30am – 3.46pm

We are looking for a productive and reliable worker with a strong attention to detail to work on production and assembly of camper trailers for a growing Australian business. We are able to tailor the role to suit your background, although we expect a demonstratable level of competency in the relevant skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment advantageous
- Experience in the camper trailer or caravan industry not required
Responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with our skilled technicians to ensure the smooth functioning of the workshop
- Work across multiple facets of the assembly process
- Assist in the assembly of our camper trailers by operating machinery and tools under the guidance of experienced workshop staff
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote efficiency and safety
Requirements:
- Competent with hand and power tools
- Practically minded with a ‘can do’ attitude and attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Excellent teamwork skills and a willingness to learn from experienced technicians
- Proven problem solving and ability to learn new skills
- Self-motivated and able to work within a team or independently with little support
- Display efficiency, quality and punctuality in their work
- Ability to understand engineering drawings
- Strong OH&S focus
- Ability to multitask
- Driver’s license
The following is not essential but will be highly regarded:
- General manufacturing experience, skills and aptitude
- Ability to plan and schedule activities
- Experience in a similar position
- Experience with 12v wiring
- Experience with plumbing
- Experience in working with and handling fibreglass parts
- MIG welding ability
