A full-time opportunity exists for a painter to join the Property Services team of Downlands College. The Property Services Department is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the college assets including buildings, facilities, equipment, grounds, vehicles and resources, working in collaboration with other staff.
This role is on a permanent basis to commence immediately or as otherwise negotiated.
The Role
The Property Services Department is responsible for working across a variety of spaces conducting a range of tasks such as:
- Minor refurbishment works
- Scheduled and reactive building and equipment maintenance
- Building and equipment repairs
- Painting
- Landscaping
- Garden & grounds maintenance
- Event set up of college facilities for staff and hire by outside groups
About You
You will have:
- A valid Working With Children Check – Blue Card (essential)
- Trade qualification in painting or demonstrated knowledge and experience to a trade qualification level essential
- Knowledge and skills in building and equipment maintenance and repairs will be considered highly desirable.
- Working knowledge and history of applying safe work practices in a property management environment including using SWMS, identifying and mitigating safety issues/practices.
- A valid White Card or OHS induction certificate from other states is advantageous
Salary
Services Staff Level 4 $35.9079 per hour plus super.

Downlands College is an independent Catholic coeducational day and boarding school for students from Years 7 to 12.
Owned and conducted by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, Downlands was opened in 1931 as a boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 68. Today it accommodates 529 day and 198 boarding students from all parts of Queensland, New South Wales, the Northern Territory as well as international students from Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
