PARKVILLE YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING SERVICE (PYMHWS)
Established in July 2024, PYMHWS is a newly created public health service, the first of its kind in Australia, dedicated to the provision of mental health and wellbeing services to young people aged 12 to 25 with complex mental illness in the north and west of metropolitan Melbourne.

Your New Role:
The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is currently recruiting for the position of Financial Reporting Manager on behalf of the Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS). This role will officially transition to PYMHWS on 1 July 2025.

Join The Royal Melbourne Hospital/Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service as a Financial Reporting Manager and become an integral part of our dynamic team! In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects related to PYMHWS's financial accounting, reporting and compliance activities. You will also lead a small team to ensure that financial statements and reports are accurate, complete, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory reporting standards.
Work with the CFO in the development and implementation of the business and strategic plan
Lead the preparation of statutory accounts, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
Lead corporate governance standards, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
Oversee cash flow management and forecasting
Review and sign off on balance sheet accounts and reconciliations
Provide technical accounting advice
Ensure government grants revenue is recorded accurately in accordance with DH Funding Guidelines, accounting standards and budget phasing and reconciled monthly
Maintain awareness of the latest developments and changes in financial regulations and legislation which may impact PYMHWS

Formal Qualifications - Chartered Accountant or CPA
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or relevant field (BA)
Proven work experience as a Financial Reporting Manager or similar role, ideally in a Victorian public health service
Strong technical accounting capability
Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g., Oracle FMIS, Magiq Reporting)
A proactive approach to resolving issues and ability to strategize and solve problems
Good analytical skills, attention to detail & organisational skills
Understanding of the mental health sector and, in particular, youth mental health desirable but not required
