Employment with Mid North Coast LHD requires candidates to hold a valid authority to work in Australia (Aust Work Rights Visa).

As a Maintenance Assistant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the ongoing functionality and safety of our facilities. Whether you're performing preventative maintenance or addressing minor repairs, your work will directly impact the quality of the services we provide. You'll be part of a supportive team, working closely with the Facility Manager and Maintenance Supervisor to maintain high standards of service delivery.

The Position

  • Maintenance and repairs as directed by Manager.
  • Assist with the inspection and maintenance of hospital machinery, plant and equipment as per Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • General cleaning duties as required.
  • General building maintenance as required, e.g. patch and painting, welding and equipment repairs, light bulb replacement.
  • Recording and accessing maintenance requests on computerised maintenance management database.
  • General workshop duties as requested.
  • Test and tagging and electrical connect/disconnect if skilled.
  • Fault finding.
  • Coordinating with contractors
  • Monitor and maintain in safe working order, various items of plant, furniture and fittings, and building infrastructure.
  • Assisting Trades Staff complete maintenance tasks where required.
  • Participate on an active on-call roster

You will demonstrate significant maintenance experience and a trade qualification (e.g Carpentry, Plumbing, Joinery) within a hospital or similar setting is desirable, computer literacy is advantageous.

To succeed you will have ability to handle a wide range of tasks of varying complexity and demonstrate the ability to undertake a variety of manual tasks. You will be a proactive team player who demonstrates initiative and possess the ability to build relationships with clients, team members and tenants.

National Police check will be essential for this role.
