About the role

We are seeking a motivated and organised Paralegal to join our team at Errard Legal in Ballarat, VIC. This is a full-time role where you will provide essential support to our legal professionals, contributing to the efficient and effective delivery of legal services to our clients.

Working directly with our founder, this role is an exciting way to get into the legal profession with access to a wide range of legal areas including commercial, property, business finance, family law, will disputes, criminal law, migration law, elder law and insolvency matters.

What you'll be doing

• Providing one on one support to one of our junior civil litigation legal professionals
• Undertaking legal research and preparing draft documents, including letters, contracts, and other legal correspondence
• Assisting with the organisation and maintenance of client files and records
• Providing administrative support, such as scheduling appointments, managing client inquiries, and coordinating with external parties
• Ensuring compliance with firm policies and procedures
• Contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment

What we're looking for

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• Proficient in using common office software, such as Microsoft Office suite
• Demonstrated interest or experience in the legal industry
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to providing high-quality work
• A collaborative and adaptable approach to working within a team
