The Arrowsmith Program is based on the application of neuroscientific research. For 40 years we have worked to help students successfully strengthen the weak cognitive capacities that result in the learning difficulties experienced by people with dyslexia, Auditory Processing Disorder, ADD, brain injury and autism.
This program applies knowledge from the fields of neuroscience and education which shows it is possible to overcome specific learning difficulties by identifying and strengthening under-performing cognitive capacities. As an Arrowsmith Program facilitator, you will facilitate a suite of cognitive programs designed to address a range of specific learning difficulties with people in a range of age groups.
About You
To be successful in this position, you must be able to focus on positive behaviour management strategies. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, be compassionate and empathetic.
A successful Arrowsmith Program facilitator will;
- Have a minimum qualification of a Tafe Diploma (ideally in the Human Services sector) (you will not be eligible for training if you do not meet this criterion)
- Be able to multi-task and have excellent time management skills
- Have good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational, observational, and attention to detail skills
- Be compassionate about helping those with learning difficulties with a very clear understanding of the behaviours associated with having a learning difficulty
- Open to learning new methodologies
- High-level computer literacy skills
The Role
Using the science of neuroplasticity, in strengthening areas of cognitive weakness students become effective, confident, and self-directed learners. This alternate learning approach has positively influenced the academic, social and emotional outcomes of its students around the world.
You will begin work at a negotiated date and must be available for 6 weeks of training from April 7 - May 16.
