Canberra's leading online auction house, ALLBIDS.com.au, has a new role at our Fyshwick premises for an outgoing and tech-savvy multi-tasker who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for ensuring an exceptional experience for our visitors, vendors, buyers and staff in the following key areas:
- Taking cash and EFTPOS payments;
- Using our inhouse IT platform to manage buyer registrations, payments, log consignments and document vehicle ownership transfers;
- Fielding inquiries in person, by telephone and online in a busy reception;
- Handling freight inquiries;
- Maintaining the presentation and cleanliness of the reception and other front of house areas including some light cleaning.

Attributes we’re looking for:
- Exceptional written and spoken English - you will be at the forefront of representing our company and the quality and clarity of our verbal and online communications with vendors and buyers is a high priority;
- Experience handling cash, credit card and EFTPOS payment systems and end-of-day reconciliations;
- High level of IT proficiency and ability to adapt to new programs quickly;
- Experience in general office functions (information management, filing, telephone systems);
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and multi-task effectively;
- A passion for detail and order;
- Ability to undertake physical duties such as cleaning or moving items for sale;
- A passion for collecting (anything!) and knowledge of the auction industry would be a bonus;
- Minimum two years' experience in a similar role or other relevant experience.
Hours
The preference is for Tuesday-Friday 8.30am-5pm and Saturday 8.30am-12pm. Other options and substantial part time (e.g. school hours) may be considered for the right candidate.
