ABOUT THE ROLE:

Elsy is looking for supportive and engaging people to join our new team who will be an integral part of the implementation of individualised supports within a Supported Independent Living setting. Our services are focused on a person-centered culture.

Successful candidates will have the drive, passion, and proven ability to be a part of a team of professional Support Workers facilitating quality care in an innovative home environment and supporting inclusive community activities.

We are looking for excellent colleagues who can support clients in residential SIL homes, in community, in day shifts and non-active night shifts. We pay above award.

ABOUT YOU:

• Understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality, privacy, and duty of care to participant circumstances and organisational matters, always.
• Have EXPERIENCE supporting people with a disability, preferably within a Supported Accommodation setting, a day program or out and about in the community.
• Able to build rapport with people and is an excellent communicator

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Knowledge of the NDIS
• Flexibility to work within a service that provides 24/7 care, this includes weekend work, sleepover and or active night shifts within a fortnightly roster.
• Competent with Microsoft Office suite particularly MS Word and MS Outlook.
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Demonstrated ability to engage effectively and establish rapport with participants.
• Demonstrated commitment to the rights and interests of people with a disability
• Have or are willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Check and Working with Children Check
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates (must be obtained before starting)
• Driver's License

DESIRABLE:

• Certificate III Qualification in Community Services, Disability, or related field
• Certificate IV in Mental Health
• 12 + months experience in a similar or relevant role
• Current Mental Health First Aid Certificate or willingness to complete
