Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 690,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
New roles await
The Chief Commercial and Corporate Officer Division is responsible for the delivery of fleet vehicles, information management, mail, procurement, property and shared services. We also coordinate a range of Agency planning and reporting processes, as well as support a continuous improvement programme for the Enabling Services Group.
Two of our pivotal branches are seeking suitably experienced leaders who are passionate about delivering quality business enabling services and working with our colleagues to achieve these outcomes.
The Corporate, Information and Property Services Branch is responsible for the delivery of centralised corporate services across the Agency, including delivering and managing the Agency’s physical property portfolio, corporate services and shared services arrangements with Services Australia.
The Procurement Branch is responsible for partnering with business areas to procure goods and services for the Agency. We focus on applying the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR), and NDIA policy to ensure value for money outcomes.

EL2 Director Corporate Services
The Corporate Services Team supports staff by maintaining travel, fleet vehicles, mail and courier operation. They coordinate uniform distribution, oversee records management policies, systems, and compliance, and manage corporate contracts and shared services arrangements.
Responsibilities of the role may include:
- Leading organisational strategic decisions, directions, and delivery of corporate enabling activities that meet business requirements.
- Designing and implementing broader improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies and compliance, including technology, functional changes and general process improvements.
- Providing expertise on compliance, requirements for keeping or destroying records, ensuring auditing compliance and resolution of information and knowledge management issues.
- Leading collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on the timely implementation of improvement opportunities and quick resolution of arising issues under shared services arrangements.
EL2 Director Property Operations
The Property Team oversees the delivery and maintenance of the NDIA property portfolio. They are responsible for managing leasing for standalone sites and co-located arrangements with other federal departments, managing site fit outs, and other capital works and coordinating property maintenance and repair work, site establishment, decommissioning and relocations.
Responsibilities of the role may include:
- Working as part of team to lease, build and maintain a portfolio of offices in over 150 locations across Australia, operating within relevant safety and building regulations and legislation.
- Leading a team of facilities managers, leasing specialists, or construction/project managers to provide appropriate property facilities to support agency business, with a key focus on accessible property requirements.
- Understanding organisational strategic decisions and directions and communicating these in the relevant context to staff and stakeholders.
- Providing strategic expertise and ensuring strategic planning is compliant and achieved on time and within budget.
EL2 Procurement
The Procurement team maintain the NDIA Procurement Framework. They are responsible for partnering with business areas to source goods and services with transparency in accordance with the NDIA Procurement Policy, regulations and legislation; and supporting the business areas to undertake grant rounds in accordance with related policies.
Responsibilities of the role may include:
- Ensuring NDIA Procurement policies and processes are maintained and are in line with quality assurance and quality control processes and procedures, including legislation, financial authorisations and associated instructions.
- Delivering a business partnering model guiding and conducting procurement activities with stakeholders across the Agency, providing advice in relation to NDIA Procurement Policy, the CPRs and guidelines, Grants Administration Policy and procedures.
- Leading an integrated approach to identifying procurement requirements early in the process, including supporting planning activities within the wider Procurement Team.
- Leading the development of the Annual Procurement Plan, ensuring projects are delivering to milestones and managing updates.

Our ideal candidates will have relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience working within a property, corporate services, or procurement setting.
They can confidently communicate with both internal and external stakeholders across a variety of mediums, such as delivering executive briefs, internal communications; negotiating contracts or delivery of staff training.
They will confidently lead a team to manage work allocation and delivery of quality outcomes, including managing competing priorities and strategic directions when achieving team planning and project outcomes in line with agency goals and objectives.
The candidates will be outcomes focussed, excellent problem solvers, seek innovative solutions and actively contribute to business improvement strategies.

While these roles are ideally performed from Deakin - ACT, Geelong - VIC, Richmond - VIC, Brisbane - QLD, remote working arrangements may be considered.
We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
